My first deployment behind enemy lines part 1 of 2
It was nearing nighttime, I happily left my pod in ZLZ station and moved towards my bedroom, intending to get some decent rest after a entire day of flying patrols killing pirates and collecting bounties for the corporation. As I walked across the station I started thinking about going by my CEO's office, I really felt that I needed to thank him for easing me into my very new role of a battleship commander in this region, flying for the Two Brothers Mining Corp. I adjusted my heading to bring me by the CEO quarters, intending to follow through with my plan before I curled up in bed.
A high-pitched sound echoed across the station, red lights started blinking and people started running to their stations. I had experienced this once before, a hostile fleet was making a move into our space. I grabbed the first Squad commander I saw and demanded a status report, he didn't say much, and he didn't need to: "Pandemic Legion fleet of 25 or more in RVC-."
What you must understand is that while Pandemic Legion do not post a territorial threat to our mighty coalition, their constant raiding of our systems have left countless pilots without ships and their psychological warfare is somewhat hindering our economy, something we can ill afford right now.
Technically I was of duty, but with no hesitation I rushed towards my trusted Drake-class battlecruiser that was docked in the C2-bay. Most of my crew was still there and all systems operational. I opened a com link to the Home Defense fleet: "Where do you need me?".
We immidiately deployed, and attacked the Pandemic Legion gang via a cynosural field that our scoutship had lit in the middle of their gang. Anti-warp bubbles was deployed and their battleships quickly melted under the fire of our larger and more organized fleet. It was clear that they did not expect us to be able to muster such a well-organized defense, considering that their raid came in the middle of a shift-change, and their bad assumptions cost them their ships.
When the entire enemy fleet had been destroyed and the battlefleet looted, most commanders started aligning towards home gate, but the fleet commander abruptly told us to hold. Something more had come up, and the tone in his voice indicated that it was something very good.
A few seconds later we got our reply:
"The NC fleet has entered the Cloud Ring region, little to no resistance, they are asking for our assistance, up for some kills boys?"
I felt my heart beating harder and harder, the Ev0ke invasion had been a pain for Mostly Harmless for months, had the time for retaliation finally come?
A titan appeared, and the order was given to approach to be able to bridge in onto the hostile capitals for support...
